Creating a Relationship With a Realtor Can Save You Loads of Time!

A Realtor® who is able to zero in on what you are looking for can really cut down on your search time, help you more quickly eleminate properties and areas that will not suit you and help you find those those that will. Even if you are just beginning to look, don’t be hesitant to call a Realtor® and let them help you get started via the internet. They have access to search tools through their local Board of Realtors® that will help filter properties based on your needs much more quickly and efficiently than any online search engine.

We have been working with resort property buyers for a number of years, so many of our new customers and clients are those who have been referred to us by other satisfied customers. But it is still surprising how many people we work with who just walk in our front door after walking in the door of several other brokerage companies.

As with any profession, all Realtors® are not created equal.  We think buyers should choose a Realtor® the same way they would choose a dentist, accountant, attorney, or anyone else they employ for personal service.

Most people do some computer research before they get in a car to look at property. That is a good time to also consider finding a Realtor® to work with. If you do not know someone who can recommend one, call a few of the Realtors® marketing properties you might be interested in. That way you can get a feel for how they work, how much they know about the area, and whether their personality seems a good fit with yours. Don’t worry about “bothering” a Realtor® if you are only just starting to explore the idea of purchasing. Any Realtor® worth their salt loves the opportunity to talk about their market and about properties that might be of interest to you.

Keep in mind that Realtors® working in general real estate can typically locate and help you purchase any property offered on the general market at no additional cost to you. Often a Realtor® will work twice as hard to find the property that suits your wants if they know you have chosen to work with them exclusively.
